Long Rides and Good Attitudes / and public ed

June 23, 2010 at 2:54 am 9 comments

Today we road about 80 miles and it was great…..The roads were as usual, needing to be better maintained; there are so many tires on the shoulder where we ride (WeRide..80…today). The wind was at our backs, and the clouds were a solution to the hot sun. Now the uphill climbs…WowWee…there is nothing like going uphill on a bicycle when you have a hundred pound load…. Now here is the attitude, good attitude, we made sure to keep focused, to smile, to appreciate this beautiful Earth, to be kind to all those we met…..and we gave each other ‘high-fives’…. Public education, well it seems this ride is needed. There is so much work we need to do…everywhere and together.

Hey Ladies! I met you today at Kerrigan’s Deli in Point of Rocks, MD! It was wonderful talking with you about the ride, the perspectives, and the state of education in Washington DC under Michele Rhee. I am so glad John and Girad saw you both, help ya out, and fed you before you got back to….work!

thank you for taking care of our children, caring for them, and wanting the best for them.

Be well and get home soon!
    Lois

Hi Dennis and Rita! Yes, the ride is finished and all went well. The Ohio hills were a serious challenge, but it all smoothed out on The Great Allegheny Passage in Pennsylvania. We have a lot of updating to do, but first comes rest! Thanks for signing in and leaving a message. —april

Hi Kelly! I met you on your last day of the ride on the C&O Canal. I hope the trip into DC was uneventful and you had a chance to relax, refuel and most importantly, rest. The heat didn’t help, did it? Welcome to Washington, D.C.! Congratulations!

You have the courage of your convictions and inspire others. I sincerely hope this is the beginning of a two-wheeled love affair that lasts the rest of your life.
